Hnjotur guesthouse is located in West Fjords in Iceland, nearby the famous bird cliff Latrarbjarg. For birdwatchers and photographers alike, Latrabjarg the 441 meter high cliff is one of a kind as it stretches up to 14 kilometers. Literally packed with birds no wonder it claims to inhabit one of the largest bird population in the world. If you love bird watching don’t forget to book a room at Hnjotur on your trip to Iceland.
In the area around Hnjotur guesthouse there are infinite possibilities of hiking. The area has cliffs, mountains, hidden valleys, waterfalls and places where few have travelled. Places where you can easily encounter a “friendly” fox or a ptarmigan. The almost extinct Icelandic Eagle or the seldom seen Falcon might also want to check you out with their sharp eye in the sky.
At Hnjotur we supply our customers with self catering kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen is a very convenient option for those who travel on a strict budget or seek to control their spending. Cooking a dinner with friends and other guests is often fun after a day of bird watching or hiking.
Although we have spectacular landscape, challenging hiking trails and flocks of birds we also have an interesting and unusual museum at the farm. An old fishing boat and a Viking ship from the battle with the sea. You can also see our precious Antonov AN-2 and Douglas C-117D from our aviation history. The other stuff at the museum is waiting here to surprise you. In addition we offer you to come and see our way of life at the typical Icelandic farm.
